Tabata is a form of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) developed by Japanese Scientist Dr. Izumi Tabata. His research showed that four minutes of intense interval training has more effect on maximal oxygen uptake and fat burning than training for an hour. These four minutes consist of a cycle of eight rounds of 20 seconds training and 10 seconds rest. It is important that maximum effort is made during a Tabata to achieve the right results.
If you are doing the Tabata workout, it is not convenient to count yourself and not everyone has a timer in the gym. Therefore, the Tabata timer app comes in very handy. You can set the timer on the app so you do not necessarily have to do a Tabata 20 seconds workout with 10 seconds rest, but you can also set other times.
